Following up on ePSIplatform’s workshop at OGD Camp in Warsaw last fall, the Austrian open data community is organizing ‘Open Government Data Business Day 2012′ on 22 March, in Vienna.

The program will be partly in English and partly in German. Focus of the session is how open data is of value to business and business development. The participants will be taking a closer look at the business models around data provision and re-use (IT infrastructure, mobile apps, data refinement and distribution, data analysis and visualization, BI) as well as new business models that look at Open Data as a building block of a more open economy, such as open innovation and mass customisation.

The event is partly inspired by, and building on, the workshop at the OGD Camp in Warsaw, organized by the ePSIplatform which brought together the information industry and the open data movement.
